Jeremie Frimpong to Liverpool is the trending story on the lips of most Reds fans.

Arne Slot and his Premier League-winning squad are due a lot of improvement in the summer transfer window, and Frimpong is one of the first new players who could walk through the doors of the AXA training Centre this summer.

The Dutchman has been a key figure in the Bayer Leverkusen team that has thrived under former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso in the last three seasons.

Strong, fast, good on the ball, and with an eye for a goal or assist, the Dutchman is increasingly looking like Liverpool’s first-choice to replace the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

As the Reds hope to evolve further through Slot’s management, Frimpong’s profile hints at a player who could seamlessly plug the void of Alexander-Arnold.

We exclusively revealed last week that Frimpong’s release clause is one of the main reasons the Liverpool leadership is keen on the Bayer Leverkusen star.

They are attracted to the fact that the €35 million (£30 million) release clause for Jeremie Frimpong is significantly lower than his perceived market value.

Our exclusive was picked up and confirmed by several reliable sources like Fabrizio Romano, who revealed that the Reds are aware of Frimpong’s situation, “and how the instalments (on his release clause) are defined.”

Earlier on Monday, DaveOCKOP also released another exclusive, confirming that Liverpool’s pursuit of the 24-year-old has accelerated with Frimpong’s representative returning to the UK to conduct preliminary talks with the Anfield hierarchy.

We also exclusively revealed that talks with the player’s camp and Liverpool are due to take place today (Monday).

Our exclusive on talks with Frimpong has now been picked up by Sky Sports, with Florian Plettenberg confirming that the club and the player have held talks.

“Understand Liverpool are seriously pursuing Jeremie #Frimpong.

Advanced talks have already taken place,” the Sky Germany journalist wrote on X.

“Following detailed analysis and due to his availability, he is currently one of the top options for #LFC to potentially replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.”

Plettenberg’s position all but confirms our earlier report that Liverpool are taking concrete steps in bringing Frimpong to Anfield?

The former Manchester City man is said to be keen on a move to Anfield, and his age, quality, and price makes a deal for him a no-brainer at several levels.

While it is important to stress that talks are by no means advanced, our Monday exclusive did reveal that “things could move quickly” considering the player’s €35 million (£29.6 million) release clause.
